McArdle Roadway to be closed Saturday

People looking to visit Mt. Washington on Saturday who planned to use the McArdle Roadway to get there will have to use an alternative route.
The road will be closed from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. to allow a contractor to remove debris along the road, according to the city’s Department of Mobility and Infrastructure.
The road will be closed between the Liberty Bridge and Grandview Avenue, and traffic will be reduced to a single lane closure between the Liberty Bridge and Arlington Avenue.
The work is being done to prevent further erosion of the hillside, which is subject to occasional landslides.
No posted detours will be provided, but motorists may use the Liberty Tunnel to northbound Route 51 to Woodruff Street to Merrimac Street to navigate around the closure.
