Get moving at Phipps Conservatory and Botanical Gardens beginning Monday.

“Let’s Move Pittsburgh Summer Fun Days” are five days where young and old can participate in games and crafts as well as fitness activities. The initiative is about developing healthy habits because Phipps is committed to leading children toward a healthier future, according to a news release. They learn about healthy snacks, the importance of water and the benefits yoga and dance.

Here are some event highlights.

Monday – “Planting the Seed” healthy snack and story, “Seeds of Change” activity stations, yoga family fitness.

Tuesday – “The World of Water” healthy snack and story, “Wonderful Water “ activity stations, hip hop family fitness.

Wednesday – “Weeds and Needs” healthy snack and story, story time, “Root for Healthy Flavors” activity stations, yoga family fitness.

Thursday – “Happy Harvest” healthy snack and story, “Healthy Garden Harvest” activity stations, hip hop family fitness.

Friday – “Seeds, Peels and Skins” healthy snack and story, “Pot-a-Plant,” “Powerful Peels and Wiggly Worms” activity stations, yoga family fitness.

Daily – Family activities with Kidsburgh: Participate in hands-on craft activities including recycled paper flowers, origami and kid-friendly circuitry kits. UPMC Health Plan Mobile Screening: get free blood pressure and bone density screenings.

Guests can also experience Phipps’ Summer Flower Show: “Van Gogh in Bloom.”

Hours are 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily and until 10 p.m. on Fridays. Admission is $17.95 for adults, $16.95 for seniors and students, and $11.95 for children ages 2-18.

Kids under 2 are free.
