Combine a hat with some attitude and what do you get? Hattitude.
That was the name given to a July 20 luncheon hosted by the Greensburg-Jeannette NAACP Religious Affairs Committee at Greater Parkview Church in Greensburg.
The serious aspect of the event dealt with attitude, via sermonettes provided by three guest speakers.
The Rev. Christine Reed, pastor of Payne Chapel A.M.E. Church in Duquesne, spoke on “Salvation.” Bishop Carl E. Jones Sr., pastor of the host church, delved into “True Worship.” The topic of “Holiness” was tackled by Evangelist Earnestine Moore, first lady and Johnstown district missionary of First Unity Church of God in Jeannette.
For the light-hearted part, guests — both ladies and gentlemen — were invited to don their favorite head gear for an impromptu fashion parade and the chance to win prizes in various categories.
Music for the event was provided by Gwendolyn Franklin of First Antioch Baptist Church in Greensburg.
Welcoming guests were NAACP branch President Ruth Tolbert and Adrienne Russell, Religious Affairs Committee chairperson.
