Water advisory lifted in 2 Pittsburgh neighborhoods

A water advisory issued earlier this week for two Pittsburgh neighborhoods has been lifted.
People in Lincoln-Lemington and Homewood North no longer have to boil water before using it.
Still, the Pittsburgh Water and Sewer Authority advised running water from the tap for at least a minute before drinking or cooking with it. The effort helps remove stagnant water from plumbing and brings in fresh water from water mains, the group said.
Update: The precautionary flush and boil water advisory in Lincoln-Lemington and portion of Homewood North is now lifted. Impacted customers are advised to run their water for at least one minute before using it to cook or drink. https://t.co/qAkuH28dTv https://t.co/kvVRwiSqgp

An alert was issued Aug. 13 following two water main breaks, one in the 1500 block of Lincoln Avenue and another in the 1700 block of Lemington Avenue.
The mishaps caused a water outage or low pressure at about 1,560 homes and businesses. It had the potential to drive contaminants into the system, officials said.
Repairs were completed on the water main that night.
The authority conducted two rounds of water quality testing over the past two day to make sure it is safe.
