An Arnold man has been jailed after allegedly being caught at a traffic stop with 38 bags of heroin, state police said.

Andre Johnson, 37, was charged with drug possession and conspiracy, both felonies.

State police arrested Johnson after pulling over his 2004 Chevrolet Tahoe on a traffic stop at the intersection of Route 422 and Pony Farm Road in North Buffalo on Thursday.

Police say they discovered what are believed to be bags of heroin.

He was taken to the Armstrong County Jail in Kittanning on $100,000 bond.

A preliminary hearing before Kittanning District Justice James Owen is scheduled for Wednesday, Oct. 16.
