One man was arrested for DUI and another taken to the hospital Saturday after a hit-and-run crash on 7th Avenue in downtown Pittsburgh, according to the city department of public safety.

Two vehicles crashed near the intersection of 7th Avenue and Penn Avenue around 3:20 p.m., police said. One of the drivers, Frederick Clark, 56, of Glassport, allegedly drove away, hitting an elderly man as he fled.

The man was taken to the hospital in stable condition.

Police stopped Clark nearby at the corner of Fifth Avenue and Market Street.

Clark is charged with causing an accident involving personal injury, driving under the influence, recklessly endangering another person and several related charges.

A preliminary hearing before Judge Kim Berkeley Clark is scheduled for Nov. 5.
