Deputies say they found pound of pot in Liberty Bridge traffic stop

A North Side man is facing felony drug charges after Allegheny County Sheriff’s deputies said they found a pound of suspected marijuana in his vehicle after a traffic stop Sunday afternoon on the Liberty Bridge.

Craig Nash, 31, of Pittsburgh’s Central North Side, was stopped on suspicion of reckless driving at about 2:20 p.m. while driving a Jeep Cherokee on the Liberty Bridge, according to the release from the sheriff’s office. Officers said his vehicle also had expired inspection stickers.

Deputies said they smelled marijuana during the traffic stop. They ordered Nash to exit the SUV and found a pound of suspected marijuana in a vacuum-sealed bag under the driver’s seat, according to the sheriff’s office.

Nash also had $1,938 in his coat pocket, the deputies said.

In addition to several traffic violations, Nash was charged with possession with intent to deliver marijuana.
