Students at Paynter Elementary School learned a lesson in giving this holiday season.

For the fourth year in a row, students in first and third grade at the Baldwin-Whitehall School District site participated in a Christmas service project, donating money and making blankets for the Pittsburgh-based Wrapped in Love Foundation. Wrapped in Love gives blankets to cancer patients across the world.

On Dec. 17, students lined several long tables in the auditorium where busy little hands were tying together fleece fabric pieces to make the blankets. About 100 blankets were made during the session.

Students opted to once again do the service project instead of a gift exchange.
