Two women were arrested after a large fight early Monday morning at a bar on Pittsburgh’s South Side.

Police responded at about 12:55 a.m. to the fight at The Flats on Carson, according to criminal complaints filed against the women.

A group of six or seven people were involved in the fight on the second level of the bar, police said. A Pittsburgh police officer working a security detail and a security guard tried to break up the fight, according to the complaints.

The security guard was hit in the face by two women. The police officer was punched twice during the fray, according to the complaints.

Raechelle Price, 24, of Austin, Texas, was arrested on charges of aggravated assault, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct. She is accused of punching the police officer, according to the complaints.

While Price was in handcuffs and sitting on the curb outside the bar, Madalyn Como, 22, of Butler, sat next to her, police said. Como wouldn’t leave and asked an officer to use a Taser on her, according to the complaints.

Como allegedly punched the cop four or five times in the leg, according to the complaints. The officer pepper sprayed Como so she could be handcuffed, according to the complaints.

Como was treated for being exposed to pepper spray then taken to Allegheny County Jail. Several other people were treated by medics for exposure to pepper spray, according to the complaints.

The officer’s body camera was knocked off during the initial moments of the fight and was not activated when the events transpired, he wrote in the complaints.
