Talk about a near miss.

A tractor trailer narrowly missed crushing several first responders at the scene of a major pileup on Highway 84 in Lubbock County, Texas on Friday.

Video captured by NBC-affiliate KCBD, which happened to be on the scene, shows crew wearing neon vests scrambling for their lives as the semi-truck careens off the highway southeast of Slaton, crushing a pickup truck and landing mere feet away from those fleeing on foot.

According to reports, one Department of Public Safety Trooper was hit, while another person was pinned inside of the smashed pickup truck.

They were taken to the hospital, where they were treated and expected to survive their injuries.

Officials told the station that the extrication process from the pickup truck took several hours, but the pinned person was alert and conversing with first responders.

The emergency crews were originally sent to the area around 10:30 a.m. to check the status of a rolled-over semi-truck on the highway.

While those responders were on the scene, more wrecks occurred.
