The Pittsburgh Zoo & PPG Aquarium is shuttering operations because of concerns over the coronavirus.

The zoo on Sunday announced that it will be temporarily closed to the public until further notice starting Monday.

All scheduled events, programs and classes will be canceled.

“Our dedicated caretakers and veterinarians will continue to provide the highest standards of professional care and welfare for our animals on site,” the zoo said in a statement. “We will continue to monitor any new developments and re-evaluate our steps and actions, following the guidance and directives of the City of Pittsburgh’s Department of Public Health and the Centers for Disease Control.”
