The eastbound lane of Spring Run Road has been closed at the landslide site since Feb. 25.
Crews from the Allegheny County Department of Public Works will install a rock embankment, make drainage improvements, rebuild the roadway and replace the guide rails.
Traffic will be detoured onto McGovern Boulevard/Route 51, Flaugherty Run Road and Brodhead Road.
Pittsburgh announced that contractors will begin work Monday in the following slide areas and motorists are advised to follow posted detours:
- Forward and Commercial avenues in Swisshelm Park.
- Arlington Avenue at William Street in Allentown.
- Slope stabilization started last week on Semicir Street in Perry South. Material removal will continue this week with start of construction of a retaining wall and engineered slope beginning after May 4. Work will take roughly four months to complete.
City officials said reconstruction work will be performed in accordance with state guidance on social distancing.
