Westmoreland County on Sunday reported two new covid-19 cases, bringing the total number of coronavirus cases to 459, according to Pennsylvania health officials.

No new deaths from the virus were reported.

Westmoreland County is one of the counties that shifted into the green phase of Gov. Tom Wolf’s phased reopening plan on Friday. Currently, all of the state’s 67 counties are in the yellow or green phase of reopening.

“As Pennsylvania continues to move forward in the process to reopen, we need to remember that the threat from covid-19 has not gone away,” Secretary of Health Dr. Rachel Levine said in a Sunday statement. “As counties move into the yellow and green phases, we must take personal responsibility to protect others. Wearing a mask, continuing to maintain social distancing, and washing your hands frequently are all steps we can take to help protect others, including our most vulnerable Pennsylvanians, our essential workers and our health care system.”

The state on Sunday continued to report 38 coronavirus-related deaths in Westmoreland County. County Coroner Ken Bacha continued to report 32. The coroner’s website hasn’t been updated since May 7. A note on the website says it will only be updated when a new case is reported to the office.

Of the 32 covid-19 related deaths reported by Bacha, 25 were confirmed by positive testing. Seven were presumed by symptoms and weren’t tested.

Those who died include 15 men and 17 women. The oldest was 109 and the youngest was 61, with the average age being 83. All were white.

More than 11,300 people in the Westmoreland County have tested negative for the virus, state health officials said.

Statewide, more than 444,000 people have tested negative for the virus and 5,943 people have died. The state’s total number of coronavirus cases jumped by 506 to 75,592 on Sunday, according to state health officials.
