Man injured in crash on Pittsburgh’s West End Circle

One man was injured after a rollover crash on Pittsburgh’s West End Circle near the West End Bridge early Friday morning, according to the city Department of Public Safety.

The crash happened shortly before 2 a.m. The driver was headed inbound on West Carson Street and tried to take the onramp to West End Circle when he crashed into a barrier.

The vehicle rolled over and was heavily damaged.

The driver got himself out of the damaged vehicle, but lost consciousness when talking with first responders, according to the Department of Public Safety. Medics took him to the hospital in stable condition.

The circle and bridge were closed, but had reopened as of 4 a.m.

Police are investigating the cause of the crash.
