Carnegie council made some appointments to committees and boards during its Jan. 11 meeting.

There were five groups with open positions. Below is a list of groups, along with each appointment.

Allegheny County Southwest Collection District: Phil Boyd, council vice president, was appointed as the group’s primary delegate. Councilman Emmett Freshwater and borough manager Steve Beuter were appointed as alternate delegates.

Char-West Council of Governments: Freshwater was appointed as its primary delegate and Boyd as the alternate delegate.

Congress of Neighboring Communities Group: Beuter was appointed as the official delegate and councilperson Regina Popichak and Mayor Stacie Riley were appointed as alternate delegates.

Andrew Carnegie Free Library and Music Hall Board of Trustees: Council members Boyd, Popichak and Richard D’Loss were appointed as municipal representatives.

Carnegie Borough Shade Tree Commission: Councilman Tom DiPietro as the borough council representative.

Beuter said each position is for a term of one year. They are re-evaluated each January, he said.

“This gives the board members the opportunity to be involved with different municipal-related groups on a yearly basis,” he said.
