News briefs: Scholarship applications being accepted, dean’s lists accolades, graduations and more

The Bob Williams Rotary Memorial Scholarship Committee is accepting applications for a $5,000 scholarship through February. The scholarship is available to eight high school seniors who plan to enroll in a state-certified college and who maintain at least a 2.5 GPA or to a GED recipient who intends on returning to post-secondary education.

The deadline to file an application is Feb. 28.

Student news

• Dom Davido and Justin Rowe (College of Arts and Sciences), and Shaniqua Grey and Carey Nestor (College of Health Sciences and Professions) qualified for the fall semester 2020 dean’s list at Ohio University. Ohio students who earned 12 semester hours of credit, including at least six hours attempted for letter grades, with a minimum GPA of at least 3.5 achieved this distinction.

• Grace Podobnik, a freshmen nursing major, and Alexis Phillips, a senior biology major, made the dean’s list for the 2020 fall semester at Waynesburg University.

• Plum High School graduates Alexandra Caruso (nursing) and Madison Macura (accounting) made the Westminster College dean’s list for the fall 2020 semester.

• Justin Manke of Verona graduated with a master’s of science in recreation and sport sciences from Ohio University’s Gladys W. and David H. Patton College of Education in fall 2020.

• Corey Messenger graduated with a Bachelor of Science in nursing from Ohio University’s College of Health Sciences and Professions in fall 2020.
