Giant Eagle’s mass vaccination clinic at Heinz Field was again extended, this time for all PreK-12 teachers in Western Pennsylvania. The chain will be holding clinic hours, by appointment, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday and Tuesday, and between 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday.
As with its previous clinics, Giant Eagle will be distributing the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine. Second-dose appointments will be scheduled before leaving the stadium.
Giant Eagle dedicated a website for teachers through its online scheduling tool. The page explains the clinic is intended for teachers and school staff “that typically interact with students in a school setting during the regular school day,” including bus drivers, school nurses, cafeteria workers and other employees.
Individuals who make an appointment must bring proof they are a teacher or school staff member, including a teaching license or school district identification badge.
The grocery pharmacy chain began offering teacher-specific appointments last week during a multi-day clinic for Pittsburgh Public Schools teachers. District officials said more than 1,500 PPS teachers and staff were able to receive their first dose of vaccine through the partnership.
Those with appointments are asked to park at Gold Lot 1 and enter the stadium through Gate A-PNC Champions Club West Doors. They’re also asked to bring proof of their date of birth, insurance information and a completed Pennsylvania Immunization Administration Record, which is available through the scheduling tool. Masks are required.
