Aspinwall historian taking steps to raise money for library, community center

Terry Nelson Taylor is volunteering her tour guide services to raise funds for the Aspinwall Library and Community Center, a nonprofit seeking to establish a library for the borough. Taylor is hosting monthly historical walking tours of Aspinwall. One of the tour stops is her historic home located at 103 Eastern Ave.

A prominent stained glass window in the former home of a Heinz descendant located on Eastern Avenue. The home once occupied five lots and boasted a formal garden. The home remains a private residence and is one of the stops on the historic walking tour hosted by Terry Nelson Taylor of Aspinwall.

Aspinwall had about 400 residents by 1890. Pictured is the Heinz House on Eastern Avenue, owned by a relative of H.J. Heinz. The Heinz House is one of the featured stops on the Aspinwall History Walking Tours offered monthly by noted long-time Aspinwall resident Terry Nelson Taylor. All proceeds benefit the Aspinwall Library and Community Center.
