Minor injuries in Thanksgiving rollover crash on Pittsburgh's Parkway East
A rollover crash on Thursday afternoon on the Parkway East in Pittsburgh resulted in only minor injuries, police said.
The crash happened shortly after 3 p.m. in the Parkway East’s westbound lanes near the Squirrel Hill/Homestead exit.
State police said a car driven by a 40-year-old Pittsburgh man traveled across all three lanes and struck the right-side guardrail and jersey barriers, leaving the highway before going up an embankment and back down onto the highway, rolling over in the process.
The driver was taken to UPMC Mercy in Uptown, and three juvenile passengers were taken to UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh for evaluation.
Police said the driver was cited for speeding.
