There were no injuries when fire tore through a Fox Chapel home Monday afternoon.

Fox Chapel police Chief Michael Stevens confirmed everyone escaped the home safely.

Fire crews from several surrounding communities responded to the fire shortly after 1 p.m. along Hunt Road, with more than a dozen emergency vehicles lined up along the narrow road.

Flames were visible from the road but, as of 2:30 p.m., Stevens said the fire appeared to be under control, although crews remained at the scene until about 5 p.m.

Fox Chapel Volunteer Fire Department Chief Dee Humes said the fire is believed to have started in the kitchen and flames spread throughout the multi-level home.

Humes said there were no structure collapses caused by the fire.

An Allegheny County fire marshal was on scene around 5 p.m. to board up and secure the residence.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
