A Fayette County priest resigned last month after allegations were made against him regarding inappropriate behavior with a 19-year-old, according to a statement from the Catholic Diocese of Greensburg.

The Rev. Douglas Dorula, a priest at Saints Cyril & Methodius Parish in Fairchance and St. Huber Parish in Point Marion, resigned Jan. 25.

The allegation against Dorula was made Jan. 24. It was reported to police and Dorula was “immediately removed from ministry and placed on administrative leave,” the statement reads.

An official announcement regarding his resignation was posted on the Diocese of Greensburg website.

The Rev. Michael Crookston, dean of region VII, was appointed administer pro-tem at both parishes.
