Pittsburgh police say a man is recuperating in an undisclosed hospital after being shot in both legs Tuesday in a Stanwix Street apartment in Downtown Pittsburgh.

The shooting occurred just before 9:45 p.m. in a building on the 600 block of Stanwix, Pittsburgh Public Safety spokeswoman Cara Cruz said.

Officers applied tourniquets until paramedics arrived in the 11th floor suite apartment, Cruz said. He was transported to the hospital in critical condition.

Detectives from the city’s major crimes unit are investigating.

No arrests were reported and the investigation is continuing, Cruz said.
