More than a dozen cars were vandalized in a Downtown Pittsburgh garage overnight, according to Tribune-review news partner WPXI-TV.

The cars were parked on several floors in the Oliver Garage located between Smithfield and Wood streets. Windshields, back windows and mirrors were smashed on cars. At least two fire extinguishers were used to damage the cars.

Pittsburgh Public Safety spokesperson Cara Cruz said police responded to reports of several cars being vandalized in the garage just before 3:30 a.m. Police found 16 cars wish smashed windows, she said.

Police said cameras show footage of a male using a fire extinguisher to smash windows but made no attempt to access vehicles or steal items.

Cruz said officers were able to contact owners of three of the vehicles and left business cards on the others to contact police.

The investigation is ongoing, she said.
