A Monroeville man on probation for corruption of a minor in a 2020 case was issued a summons last week from Allegheny Township police on similar charges.

Guerau Bernat Cabrera, 44, of the 3800 block of Northern Pike in Monroeville was charged Aug. 8 by township police with a misdemeanor count of indecent assault and harassment in connection with an incident police said occurred in December 2019, according to a criminal complaint.

Court records show Cabrera pleaded no contest in November 2020 to misdemeanor counts of corruption of minors and endangering the welfare of children filed by Plum police.

Police said they received a report by telephone about a 12-year-old who accused of inappropriate touching during a party they attended together in December 2019.

The following day, police received a state ChildLine report about the incident, police said.

The child told investigators about the incident during a forensic interview at UPMC Mercy Hospital in Pittsburgh, according to the complaint.

Police said the person who held the party confirmed the child and Cabrera attended, the complaint said.

Police said they contacted Cabrera by telephone to ask about the incident, but he did not respond.

Cabrera was notified about the latest charges filed against him by a summons mailed to his home, according to court records.

Cabrera pleaded no contest in November 2020 to misdemeanor counts of corruption of minors and endangering the welfare of children filed by Plum police and was sentenced to five years probation.

Plum police initially filed felony charges against Cabrera, but they were reduced to misdemeanor charges when he pleaded no contest to the accusations, court records show.
