Shortly after Pittsburgh police called off a chase on Route 28 early Sunday afternoon, Harmar police said they apprehended the two men — who are accused of attempted homicide — just past the Fox Chapel exit on the highway.

After Harmar officers caught the suspects, Pittsburgh police interviewed and arrested the driver, 24-year-old Allan Littlejohn and passenger Carter Hodges, 21, according to a statement from Pittsburgh Public Safety.

The two men face attempted homicide charges and are in the Allegheny County Jail. Littlejohn also faces charges for his role in the vehicle pursuit. No other details were available Sunday night.

The men were wanted for an Oct. 2 shooting in Pittsburgh’s Knoxville neighborhood, according to Pittsburgh Public Safety. The victim, who survived, was shot in his car in the 200 block of Wilbur Street.

Pittsburgh police violent crime unit detectives had a search warrant for a vehicle connected with the shooting. On Sunday, detectives located the vehicle on Natchez Street in Mount Washington, according to Pittsburgh Public Safety.

The suspects took off around 12:15 p.m., as police attempted to catch them at a traffic stop. They saw the vehicle turn onto the Liberty Bridge and chased the suspects onto Route 28, heading north.

Pittsburgh police terminated the chase just past the Fox Chapel exit, the site of a construction zone, according to Pittsburgh Public Safety.

Soon after, Harmar Township police officers spotted and stopped the vehicle on Route 28. Several drivers reported on the Facebook Page “Don’t Wait on 28!” that they were seeing police with guns drawn.

After Harmar police had captured the men, Pittsburgh police detectives took custody and interviewed the two suspects at police headquarters, where they were arrested.
