1 dead, 3 injured after police chase and fiery crash on Pittsburgh’s South Side

A person died after a police chase led to a fiery crash in Pittsburgh’s South Side neighborhood on Wednesday. Three people were also reported injured as a result of the crash.

According to Tribune-Review news partner WPXI, a chase began in McKeesport and ended in the South Side when the vehicle being pursued crashed in the 3300 block of East Carson Street.

Police, EMS and fire units responded to the scene at 8:28 p.m. Wednesday. Three people were injured and one pronounced dead, WPXI reported. The condition of the people injured is not yet known.

Emergency crews used a fire extinguisher to put out flames from the crash.

Multiple agencies were involved in the chase, but Pittsburgh police were not involved in the pursuit, according to Pittsburgh Public Safety.
