Regarding the Dec. 5 editorial cartoon that depicted a Christmas tree being burned in a fireplace: Although the point was made about the high cost of home heating, I was appalled at the image. Christmas tree fires, whether in the room or worse, being burned in a fireplace, cause thousands of home fires. Every fireman seeing this cartoon is shaking their head.
