Joe Reece’s career night leads Duquesne past La Salle

PHILADELPHIA — Joe Reece had a career-high 26 points, and Duquesne beat La Salle, 91-74, on Wednesday night.

Reece also contributed seven rebounds for the Dukes (19-9, 9-6 Atlantic 10). Tre Williams added 14 points, seven rebounds and six assists, and Dae Dae Grant contributed 10 points.

Duquesne shot 56% and outscored the Explorers, 52-22, in the paint.

It was the Dukes’ first win at La Salle since 2011, snapping a six-game losing skid at Tom Gola Arena.

The Explorers (13-15, 7-8) were led by Josh Nickelberry’s 28 points. Hassan Drame added 12 points and two steals.

Duquesne hosts Davidson at 2 p.m. Sunday in the Chuck Cooper Classic.
