A Pittsburgh man wanted on three different warrants has been taken into custody, Sheriff Kevin M. Kraus said Tuesday.

Troy Royster, 28, from the city’s Homewood neighborhood, pleaded guilty in March 2022 to a number of charges in McKees Rocks, including aggravated assault and robbery of a motor vehicle. Royster also pleaded guilty to one count of escape and one count of flight to avoid prosecution.

Allegheny County Common Pleas Judge Edward Borkowski sentenced Royster to time served plus three years of probation, Kraus said.

In October, Borkowski issued the three bench warrants for Royster because of what he deemed probation violations.

Sheriff’s detectives learned that Royster was known to frequent Downtown. During the lunch hour Tuesday, authorities spotted him on Smithfield Street and took him into custody without incident.

He is being held in Allegheny County Jail.
