Obviously, the word is out about the annual Greensburg Garden Center Spring Tea.

The March 25 event at the Greensburg Garden & Civic Center was a hot ticket, drawing its biggest-ever attendance of 122.

Each of the 15 tables was decorated in a unique theme created by the table hostess (or hostesses). Themes in a riot of colors ran the gamut from whimsical to seasonal to classical.

Christine Larry and Barb Yohman called their table “A Golden Leaf Garden,” with the theme inspired by vintage Libbey gold leaf glassware. The frosted glasses have a gold rim and are decorated with a variety of leaf patterns.

The glasses were on just about every well-appointed table in the 1950s and ’60s, Larry said.

“I was so amazed when I walked in,” said Eileen Fabert of Conway, Beaver County. “Each table was more beautiful than the last.”

Fabert and her husband, Rick, were first-time attendees, having been invited by Eileen’s cousin and garden center co-president Diane Dale.

Guests enjoyed a classic afternoon tea repast, with fruit cup, scone, finger sandwiches, cookies and other confections.

They were entertained by vocal selections from Mary McCormack and Jesse Glover of Alabaster Performing Arts.

Event chair Tiffany Horvat was assisted by committee members Dale, Judy Geary, Nadine Mason, Terry Rodgers and Carla Rusnica and about 30 volunteers who helped to serve. Garden center member J.D. Peterson created a large floral arrangement for a centerpiece.

Seen at tea: Joan Stairs, Bonnie Kramer, Elaine Harmon, Glenda Gebert, Audrey White, Michele Gurcak, Betty Travis, Kim Marks, Iris Cisarik, Rochelle Packard, Anna Zanule, Jeanne Siecinski, Jan Smith, Rita Petrovich, Susan Tuite and Sherry Santilli.
