The invitation said, “Come to Paris with us,” as Greensburg Art Center created a Moulin Rouge theme for its April 1 Art on the Vine fundraiser.

The trip was a long time coming, with the party originally planned for 2020 and put on hold by the pandemic.

A papier mache can-can dancer twirled on a swing suspended from the ceiling, as guests clad in berets, neck scarves and striped shirts, boas and feathered fascinators reminiscent of the French Impressionist era mingled below.

The sculpture was created for the original party by artist Linda Kaulius of Champion, who said, “Everything was ready before the pandemic hit. She’s been in bits and pieces in my house, just waiting to come out.”

Guests sipped wine from take-home glasses hand-painted by center members, who also filled six tables with creations from their kitchens, from crab legs, shrimp cocktail and lobster mac ’ cheese, to assorted canapes and charcuterie, to cookies, cakes, chocolates and other sweet treats.

They also enjoyed a photo booth, music by the Pittsburgh-based Zen Strings and caricatures by artist Ray Kuchinka.

The party committee was headed by Pat Majcher, with those contributing to the success of the evening including Jerry Scorpion, Rose Sovyak, Janice Decker, Ginger Hepler, Polly O’Hara, Nancy Dalverny, Judy Smith, Marcia Gilbert, Shirleah Kelly, Paula Perry, Milissa Bruce, Karen Knesh, Loretta Wolfe, Mary Jennings, Tami Krusper and Susan Wisneski.

Seen along the Seine: Bob Majcher, Mary Ann Calabrase, Barbara Ferrier, Ian Miller and Ashley Schrecengost, Gene Dalverny, Joe Gilbert, Roxie Fontanesi, Jo Ellen Numerick, Linda Blum, John Jay Gomolak, Ken Gfroerer, Paige Dix, Will Thornton, Shawn Klingensmith and Joe Perry.
