A Bridgeville man accused of sexually assaulting a 14-year-old girl has been taken into custody.

The Allegheny County Sheriff’s Office charged Zachary Kelly, 27, earlier this month with involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, unlawful contact with a minor, indecent assault, and three counts of corruption of minors, court records show.

Sheriff Kevin M. Kraus said Kelly sexually assaulted the girl in March 2022 while she was in a parked car with Kelly in Carnegie.

This week, detectives developed information that Kelly might be in Washington County, Kraus said. At 2:30 a.m. Thursday, sheriff’s detectives found him inside of an abandoned house in Canton Township.

Kelly initially attempted to resist the detectives but quickly was taken into custody, Kraus said.

Kelly also had an active warrant out of Upshur County, W.Va. for grand larceny and destruction of property, and also was charged with being a fugitive from justice, Kraus said.

He was arraigned and was in Allegheny County Jail on Thursday.
