A Pittsburgh man wanted in connection with a shooting in the city’s Hill District last week has been arrested.

Damon Peters, 19, was apprehended by the U.S. Marshals Western Pennsylvania Fugitive Task Force and Pittsburgh Police Fugitive Apprehension Unit sometime overnight in the Hill District, Pittsburgh Public Safety spokeswoman Cara Cruz reported Thursday.

He is charged with aggravated assault, criminal attempt of aggravated assault, criminal mischief, carrying firearms without a license, person not to possess firearms and two counts of recklessly endangering another person.

Charges stem from a shooting that critically injured a man last Friday in the 2400 block of Chauncey Drive.

Cruz said Peters was also wanted on two additional unrelated warrants.

He was taken to the Allegheny County Jail and was denied bail due to being a flight risk, according to online court documents.

Anyone with information about the shooting can contact Pittsburgh Police at 412-323-7800.
