A 46-year-old Butler man died after being hit by two cars in Butler Township Saturday night, township police said.

Patrick Bender Jr., 46, was walking east in the westbound lane of Kittanning Street near Portman Road around 8 p.m., police said. He was wearing dark clothing.

Bender was first struck by a westbound car. He was lying in the eastbound lane of Kittanning Street when, police said, the driver of a second car was unable to avoid Bender and hit him.

Bender was taken by ambulance to Butler Memorial Hospital, where he died from his injuries, police said.

Police have not said if either driver would face any charges.

Police were still investigating Tuesday.
