Letter to the editor: What will happen to our love and good sentiment?

If Donald Trump would win this election in 2024, what happens to all the good love and good sentiment that we put into ourselves? What happens to the hatred?

If Kamala Harris wins this 2024 election, what happens to all the good love and good sentiment that we put into ourselves? What happens to the hatred?

I’m saying this because I don’t think an election like this should be normalized. In my opinion, Trump only spews hate.

Former first lady Michelle Obama, in an interview with The New York Times, questioned why Harris is held to a higher standard than Trump: “We expect her to be intelligent and articulate, to have a clear set of policies, to never show too much anger, to prove time and time again that she belongs. But for Trump, we — we expect nothing at all. No understanding of policy, no ability to put together a coherent argument, no honesty, no decency, no morals. Instead, too many people are willing to write off his childish, mean-spirited antics by saying, well, Trump’s just being Trump.”

I think this election is a social experiment. Its paramilitary threats are things that no one can even fathom. And whatever Trump says, that’s what he’s doing. That’s called gaslighting. I believe he has taken the playbook of Hitler and turned it into a Trump University.
