Anyone who knows me knows that I do not like Halloween. I just can’t stand the gore, the scary decorations, the sending your kids out to beg from your neighbors and the candy/junk overload. I am the self-declared Scrooge of Halloween!

But, in my neighborhood and I know in others, I have noticed that people work so hard to make the night something special. My street alone had a hot dog cart and clowns handing out balloon animals, and I swear the real Michael Myers was hired out next door. I admire that my neighbors take so much time, money and talent to create a memorable night for so many kids and families. I love seeing the fire trucks roaming, too.

I might say a Bah-CreepyCrawlyHumBug for Halloween, but I definitely feel a deep appreciation for such giving and talented neighbors.
