Nicole Vigilante has operated her home decor shop, Trovo, in downtown New Kensington for five years. It’s something Vigilante said she has always wanted to do, since she and her siblings would play together by pretending to run a hardware store in their father’s basement workshop.

A Smith Premier 1 typewriter from 1896 has been for sale at Trovo in New Kensington since Nicole Vigilante opened her shop in November 2019. While it’s her favorite thing in the store, she said she’ll let it go with “a little kiss” when someone buys it.
