Pittsburgh police are investigating two shootings that happened overnight Saturday — one in East Liberty and the other downtown.

At 10:30 p.m. Saturday, police were called to a residence in the 6200 block of East Liberty, where a male believed to be in his early teens was found with a gunshot wound to the head.

He was transported in “grave condition” to the hospital, police said on Facebook, and one other male was was transported to police headquarters for questioning.

Then just after 2:30 a.m. early Sunday morning, a Pittsburgh police officer working a detail on Ninth Street downtown was notified of a shooting victim.

An unconscious male was located on the ground at Ninth and Penn streets, and he had a gunshot wound to his arm, police said.

Officers applied a tourniquet to the wound, and the man was transported to the hospital in critical condition, according to the Pittsburgh Public Safety Department on Facebook.
