Police say robber hit employee with fire extinguisher

Pittsburgh police said they are investigating a Brookline robbery, in which one of two suspects struck an employee of the business with a fire extinguisher.

The employee, who police did not name, arrived at work in the 900 block of Brookline Boulevard and was opening up when he encountered two men, police said.

During the incident, one of the suspects struck the employee with a fire extinguisher and stole his wallet, police said. A female employee, who found her injured co-worker, called 911.

When police arrived, they said they found the victim lying on the ground with his head in his hands.

First responders took the man to an area hospital in stable condition.

Police are investigating.

Human remains identified as missing man

The Allegheny County Medical Examiner’s Office on Tuesday identified the human remains found earlier this week in Pittsburgh’s South Side Slopes neighborhood as Michael George Graham, 43, a man reported missing last year.

Graham’s remains were found Sunday in the 2000 block of Burham Street.

In a post on X, Pittsburgh police said Graham had last been seen Oct. 4 on Eccles Street, less than a half of a mile from where his body was found.

The missing man frequented South Side neighborhoods and the Munhall area, police said.

The medical examiner has not determined a cause or manner of death.
