Students at Mary Queen of Apostles School in New Kensington are feeling the love.

Third graders are on a mission to collect Valentine’s Day cards from all 50 states by Friday. They’re more than halfway to their goal.

With two days left, students are still hoping for cards from Alaska, Arkansas, Delaware, Hawaii, Idaho, Iowa, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Mexico, Oregon, Rhode Island, South Dakota, Vermont, West Virginia and Wyoming.

Staff said it’s a lesson for youngsters on the reach of social media.

Anyone who would like to share the project with friends across the country is encouraged to do so.

Send a Valentine to: Mary Queen of Apostles School, 100 Freeport Road, New Kensington, PA 15068.
