A motorcyclist was killed early Tuesday morning in a two-vehicle head-on collision along Route 51 near Perryopolis, according to state police at Belle Vernon.

The victim, Paul Corbett, 57, of Perryopolis, was riding southbound when his motorcycle crossed over into the northbound lanes and collided head-on with a pickup truck at about 5:30 a.m. in the 3000 block of Route 51 in Perry Township, police and Fayette County Coroner Bob Baker said.

The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene by a Fayette County Deputy Coroner Lauren Bilski. The driver of the pickupup truck, who was not identified, was transported to UPMC Presbyterian hospital in Pittsburgh for treatment, police said.
