My heart sank when I saw a young female Tufts University student, on TV, being taken by several men in black with their faces covered. She was grabbed without warning and with no knowledge of the reason. It looked as if she was being kidnapped. As we learned, the student was taken into ICE custody for writing an essay about Israel and the war in Gaza.

President Donald Trump has ordered his anti-immigrant secret police to accost these students who are exercising their constitutional right to express their opinions. We are all guaranteed freedom of speech, religion and assembly. We all have the right to due process, legal consent, unreasonable search and seizure.

Our cruel, ruthless and unsympathetic president seems to care little for our laws and our Constitution as he continues to trash our Democratic republic. This administration is turning our streets into what feels like Nazi Germany, with no backlash from our Republican politicians. Trump says he loves the idea of sending American citizens to foreign prisons. Where and when will this end?
