Pirates farm report for May 10, 2025: Termarr Johnson, homers, steals base in Altoona win

INDIANAPOLIS (Triple-A, 19-17) lost a 1-0 pitchers’ duel to Columbus (Guardians). RHP Thomas Harrington (1-3) started and gave up one run on a solo home run and six other hits in 4⅓ innings. He struck out seven. LHP Nick Dombkowski (2.25), RHP Kyle Nicolas (7.71) and RHP Isaac Mattson (2.45) combined to throw 4⅔ no-hit innings. DH Spencer Horwitz (.250) went 2 for 4 as his rehab assignment continues. LF Nick Solak (.385) also went 2 for 4. CF Billy Cook (.190) went 1 for 4 with three strikeouts.

Next: Sunday vs. Columbus (Guardians), 1:35 p.m.

ALTOONA (Double-A, 15-17) beat Erie (Tigers), 6-4. 2B Termarr Johnson (.257) went 2 for 3 with his fifth home run and sixth stolen base. 3B Jack Brannigan (.226) went 1 for 5 with his fourth homer. SS Kervin Pichardo (.242) went 4 for 4 with three doubles and two RBIs. LF Imanol Vargas (.212) went 2 for 3 with a double, a walk and a run scored. RHP Wilber Dotel (1-0, 2.87) started and went six innings, allowing three runs, two earned, on six hits with one walk and eight strikeouts. RHP Cam Sanders (0.57) pitched 1⅔ no-hit innings for his eighth save.

Next: Sunday at Erie (Tigers), 1:35 p.m.

GREENSBORO (High-A, 22-10) took care of Hub City (Rangers), 9-5. The Grasshoppers walked 14 times. LF Esmerlyn Valdez (.316) went 1 for 3 with a double, three walks and two RBIs. C Omar Alofizo (.235) went 1 for 5 with two RBIs and his first stolen base. 3B Duce Gourson (.238) went 0 for 3 with three walks, two RBIs and his 14th stolen base. 1B Maikol Escotto (.390) went 2 for 3 with two walks and three runs scored. RF Enmanuel Terrero (.182) went 1 for 3 with two walks, two RBIs and a run scored. RHP Antwone Kelly (5.01) started and allowed four runs on three hits, including a homer, in 4⅓ innings. He walked one and struck out eight. LHP Hunter Furtado (5.40) came on and pitched 1⅔ no-hit innings to earn the win. RHP Ryan Harbin (5.40) worked a scoreless ninth.

BRADENTON (Low-A, 14-18) beat Lakeland (Tigers), 6-4. C Axiel Plaz (.310) went 1 for 3 with three RBIs. RF Braylon Bishop (.253) went 1 for 3 with a double, walk, run scored, RBI and his ninth stolen base. SS Konnor Griffin (.282) went 1 for 4 with his 13th stolen base and a run scored. 3B Jhonny Severino (.212) went 1 for 4 with a double and an RBI. LHP Victor Cabrera (3.80) started and went 4⅓ innings, giving up four runs, three earned, on six hits with two walks and two strikeouts. RHP Greiber Mendez (3-2, 6.11), RHP Jose Garces (3.68) and RHP Jake Shirk (2.12) combined for 4⅔ innings of scoreless relief. Mendez picked up the win and Shirk his third save.
