A Unity man is behind bars after state police said he attacked a woman, sexually assaulted her and attempted to kill another person with a shotgun, according to court papers.

Collin R. Boggio, 32, was arrested Friday and charged with attempted homicide, kidnapping, aggravated assault and related offenses.

Troopers said Boggio choked the woman around 11:30 p.m Thursday, sexually assaulted her and threatened to hurt her with a knife and kill her. She had scratches and bruises on her body, according to court papers.

After loading a shotgun, police said Boggio forced the woman into his Ford pickup and drove her to a home in Derry Township around 5 a.m. Friday where he pointed the gun at the door. Boggio is accused of trying to coax the occupant outside, but the door stayed closed, according to court papers. Witnesses told investigators Boggio appeared intoxicated.

He was denied bail during arraignment Friday and was being held at the Westmoreland County Prison. Boggio did not have an attorney listed in online court records. A preliminary hearing is set for May 19.
