Body found in Monongahela River
A barge operator found a man’s body in the Monongahela River south of Pittsburgh on Wednesday afternoon, according to TribLive news partner WTAE.
The unidentified man was found near the Brownsville Bridge, which connects Washington and Fayette counties, according to Washington County Coroner Tim Warco.
Warco said the man appeared to be between the ages of 30-50, according to WTAE. He urged anyone with information to contact the coroner’s office and state police.
Car crashes into home in Derry
A car crashed into a mobile home along Route 22 in Derry shortly after 5 a.m. on Thursday.
Westmoreland County dispatchers said they received the call to the 9700 block of the highway.
Though there is no word of injuries, dispatchers said one person was transported from the scene.
As of 6:45 a.m., emergency services remain on the scene.
Pittsburgh Police respond to Downtown stabbing
Police responded to a stabbing around 1 p.m. in Downtown Pittsburgh on Wednesday.
At the intersection of Market Street and Fort Pitt Boulevard, officers spoke to a witness who said one adult male had stabbed another adult male in the forearm amid a dispute, according to police.
Both the victim and suspect, who sustained a minor facial abrasion during the dispute, were transported to the hospital in stable condition, police said.
Police plan to file charges against the suspect, they said.
Man shot in back in Perry South
One man is in critical condition after being shot in the back on Wednesday in Pittsburgh’s Perry South neighborhood, according to TribLive news partner WTAE.
Police arrived 4:30 to 2300 block of Wilson Avenue, where they treated the victim until medics arrived.
Cara Cruz, public information officer for Pittsburgh’s Department of Public Safety, said a firearm was recovered.
No details have emerged about potential suspects or the cause of the shooting.
