A portion of Route 51 in Brentwood has reopened following a fatal crash Tuesday night.

Borough police said the multi-vehicle crash happened on Route 51 between Marylea Avenue and Towne Square Way just after 7:15 p.m. The road was closed for about five hours late Tuesday as police reconstructed the crash.

Chase E. Cyphers, 20, of West Mifflin, was killed in the crash, according to the Allegheny County Medical Examiner. He died at a hospital.

TribLive news partner WTAE reported a vehicle on the 3900 block of Clairton Boulevard that appeared to have taken heavy damage to its front fender.

It was unclear if anyone else was hurt.
