On Monday, Sept. 8, Allegheny County’s Department of Public Works will reopen a stretch of Spring Garden Road in Reserve that had been closed for three months.

The closure, which began June 2 between Ramage Road and Beech Street, was required for construction of a roadway support structure, roadway repairs, as well as curb and pavement marking replacement.

To accommodate the closure, Pittsburgh Regional Transit detoured its 7-Spring Garden bus route and temporarily discontinued five stops along the route. Those stops have now been reinstated:

Inbound

Spring Garden Road opposite No. 3851 (stop No. 2863)

Spring Garden Road opposite No. 3681 (stop No. 2864)

Spring Garden Road at Beech Street (stop No. 2865)

Outbound

Spring Garden Road at No. 3681 (stop No. 2915)

Spring Garden Road at No. 3851 (stop No. 2916)

Riders with questions about the 7-Spring Garden route should contact PRT customer service at 412-442-2000, on X at @pghtransitcare or via live chat at rideprt.org.

Spring Garden Road is used by an average of 1,960 drivers daily.

A. Merante Contracting of West Mifflin was the primary contractor for the $409,838 project.
