A man was run over by a pickup truck Friday night while lying along a poorly lit road in White Township.
The Indiana County Coroner’s Office identified the victim as Bryan Boyd, 30, of Homer City.
Just before midnight, troopers got word of a hit-and-run crash involving a pedestrian near the intersection of Old Route 119 Highway South and Johnson Road, according to a news release from state police.
The driver of the Toyota Tacoma, a 16-year-old boy, called 911 about an hour later to report he had struck Boyd. He later spoke with troopers while accompanied by his parents.
State police say they’ve learned during the investigation that Boyd was lying on his back on the southbound lane of Old Route 119 Highway South. They also noted the road has limited street lights and the vehicle went over a small hill before it hit Boyd.
The investigation is ongoing.
