Pittsburgh police said they have arrested a man in connection with an aggravated assault inside a Strip District nightclub.

Sebastian Rodriguez, 25, was arrested Saturday and transported to police headquarters for an interview, police said.

He was then charged with aggravated assault and transported to the Allegheny County Jail.

Police said the assault occurred Aug. 31 inside a nightclub in the 1900 block of Smallman Street. The victim was punched in the head and then transported to the hospital in critical condition. His condition has since been changed to stable.

Officials said it was detectives from the Pittsburgh Police Fugitive Apprehension Unit who arrested Rodriguez, with assistance from Pennsylvania State Police and the U.S. Marshals Service Western Pennsylvania Fugitive Task Force.
