Minor league report: Penguins beat Phantoms to finish preseason

A goal and an assist by defenseman Chase Pietila led the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins to a 3-1 preseason win against the rival Lehigh Valley Phantoms at the PPL Center in Allentown on Saturday.

Forward Cal Burke recorded two assists for Wilkes-Barre/Scranton while forwards Kyle Criscuolo and Zach Gallant each contributed a goal.

Goaltender Filip Larsson made 21 saves on 22 shots in his preseason debut.

The Penguins finished the preseason with a 2-0-0 record. They will open the regular season with a home contest against the Hartford Wolf Pack on Oct. 11, 6:05 p.m.
